Greetings! My name is Garrett and I am from America. I have been living and teaching physical education in Phuket, Thailand for the past four years. I taught PE and swimming at Kajonkietsuksa School for three years prior to working at United World College Thailand (UWCT). Before that, I was a PE/Health teacher at The Ross School in East Hampton, New York, USA. I have also been a lacrosse and basketball coach for the past ten years. In my free time, I enjoy working out, playing rugby, surfing, fishing, and anything else outdoors.
I knew that I was born to be a teacher at quite a young age. Since then, I have tried to gain as much diverse and meaningful experience as possible, in and out of the classroom, in all different types of environments. In addition to teaching, I have been a day camp counselor, a camp director, a coach, a teacher assistant, a one to one aide, a mentor, and an advisor.
I take pride in my accomplishments as a teacher thus far, and am always willing to improve and adapt my strategies and practises through reflection and experience. The most important lesson that I have learned over the past decade as a teacher is to trust your colleagues, take risks, and most of all, be open to change, constructive criticism, and always adapt your teaching strategies regularly. Please feel free to contact me at any time:
